When you are running Microsoft Office Groove 2007 and Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 or 2005, you can view the awareness states (such as online, busy, or away) of your Communicator contacts directly from the Groove Launchbar or a Groove workspace. 1. Open Office Communicator and find the person’s name in your list of contacts.

Mostly, this automation is helpful—but sometimes you definitely don't want to be interrupted, and other times you are free despite having an appointment on your calendar.
